MODERN APPROACHES TO IMPROVING THE ASSESSMENT SYSTEM IN SCHOOLS

Abstract
This study explores modern approaches to improving the assessment system in schools, emphasizing the shift from traditional evaluation methods toward more comprehensive, flexible, and student-centered assessment practices. With the rapid development of educational technologies and pedagogical innovations, assessment is no longer limited to summative examinations; instead, it now encompasses formative assessment, competency-based evaluation, digital assessment tools, and continuous feedback mechanisms. The study highlights the effectiveness of data-driven assessment, the use of digital platforms for real-time monitoring, and the inclusion of self-assessment and peer-assessment strategies in fostering learner autonomy. In addition, challenges such as teacher readiness, access to digital tools, and the need for clear assessment criteria are discussed. The findings demonstrate that modernized assessment systems contribute to improved educational quality by creating more transparent, equitable, and personalized learning experiences.
