AI-HUMAN COLLABORATION IN TEACHING ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Abstract
The rapid integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into educational contexts has reshaped pedagogical practices, particularly in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL). This paper explores the concept of AI–human collaboration in TEFL, emphasizing how intelligent technologies can complement, rather than replace, the professional role of English language teachers. Drawing on recent empirical studies and theoretical frameworks, the research examines the ways AI-supported tools—such as intelligent tutoring systems, automated feedback platforms, adaptive learning applications, and conversational agents—enhance language instruction, learner engagement, and personalized learning. The findings suggest that effective integration of AI in TEFL is most successful when grounded in a collaborative model that positions teachers as designers, facilitators, and critical evaluators of AI tools.
