GENDER EQUALITY IN EDUCATION: STRATEGIES TO SUPPORT SDG 4 AND SDG 5 ALIGNMENT
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article examines the integration of gender equality strategies within the education system of Uzbekistan in the context of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality). The study explores current national reforms aimed at ensuring equal access to education for girls and boys, reducing gender-based disparities, and promoting the active participation of women in academic and professional fields. Special attention is given to inclusive pedagogical approaches, teacher training programs, digital learning opportunities, and community engagement initiatives that contribute to gender-sensitive learning environments. The findings indicate that despite substantial progress in recent years, certain socio-cultural barriers and regional inequalities continue to influence female participation in education. Therefore, strengthening policy implementation, enhancing public awareness, and expanding support mechanisms remain critical to aligning SDG 4 and SDG 5 goals. The article concludes that a comprehensive and collaborative approach is needed to ensure sustainable gender equality outcomes in Uzbekistan’s education sector.
