This article analyzes the role of human capital in the modern formation and development of environmental management systems (EMS). Qualified personnel, specialists with ecological thinking, and the management culture of human resources within organizations are considered key factors in ensuring environmental sustainability. The article also highlights the main directions of developing human capital within the framework of the Republic of Uzbekistan’s policy on promoting the “green economy” and the advancement of environmental management.
